"When preparing for an upcoming basketball season, you must take into consideration all aspects of human performance. Players are sometimes too concerned about their shot, dribbling skills, fitness, when they sometimes forget about improving their physical capabilities. You can only play as long as your body allows. There are plenty of former players that can still run, shoot, dribble well, but they lack the physical capacity to get up and down the court and stay healthy. The more time spent preparing the body for the rigors of the game and season, the longevity of ones career can be extended tremendously, which depending on your level of play could mean millions of more dollars. This is mental preparation and conditioning, daily fine tuning at the gym, and working on you craft at the court. All are equally important as if one of the above 3 takes a dip, so will your game" Brian Abide
